I like Moyes as an author, but I found this book incredibly frustrating. The characters just seemed to determined to make stupid choices and make themselves and others unhappy.

That isn't to say that I don't think it was realistic. It was a little too realistic. And individually I liked the characters even. It was just their behavior and the results of their behaviors that frustrated me.

I enjoyed the book. I especially liked the ending. Guess I am a romantic at heart. I find it hard to put into words my feelings about the secretary. She was intelligent enough to do her job and understand what she needed to do to keep her employer satisfied with her as a secretary until he used her loyalty for his own sexual gratification. And then she allowed her nativity override her intelligence. Where were your brains, girl. I wanted to yell at her. The husband was the typical big management big money has it all gets and takes what he wants person. I found it hard to have any sympathy for him.
