"Nectar in a Sieve" by Kamala Markandaya

Harold's had this on the shelf for a while and I've always thought it looked interesting. M says I like to pick depressing books, so here we go. =)

Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift

Since M is travelling, let's all travel.......

"The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde

Returning to an "oldie but goodie", at least, so I've heard.

"In the Skin of a Lion" by Michael Ondaatje

Another pick courtesy of NPR. Hope it's better than Shanghai Girls....

"The joyful will stoop with sorrow, and when you have gone to the earth I will let my hair grow long for your sake, I will wander through the wilderness in the skin of a lion.
The Epic of Gilgamesh"

The Help by Kathryn Stockett

Sounds like 3 more women to follow ..... who will kill Zenia??

"The Robber Bride" by Margaret Atwood

I haven't actually finished Freakonomics yet, but will either today or tomorrow. Since everyone else has already finished it, I thought I'd open this new post for you. I've heard good things about this book from friends and academics- let's hope we share their opinion!
