While not a novel, I enjoyed this book because it talked about some of my favorite novels. Learning about the lives of the authors and connecting it to the novels they wrote was fascinating and made me think about how my life experiences influence my create endeavors.

Unfortunately, I waited too long to open this post and comment and now don't remember what I meant to say!

I have passed the book along so I cannot be specific with authors names or characters they wrote about. My overall impression was about how difficult the lives of the authors were and that the good old days were not the good old days for women. Life was challenging and often depressing for them. Yet out of that came these novels that have only gotten more popular with time. This book offers new insights that give a reason to go back and reread the novels through a different set of glasses.
