This book was like a history lesson of the journey of women's rights. It was unusual to keep in mind the age of the main character. The part about the San Francisco earthquake was especially interesting for me. If the author had provided a family tree illustration it would have made it easier for me to keep track of who was who. I enjoyed this book.
I agree that a family tree illustration would have been helpful. The changing times and people got confusing after a while. Although, that may have removed some of the mystery from the process of her discovery.
I found the bits about Rosella more interesting than the parts about Angie. I think because it was more about Women's Rights (although the union actions of the teachers is certainly timely). I also just liked Rosella's character better.
The Epilogue tied everything up nicely. Except what happened with Ted. I hope he got what was coming to him. Jack, too. Even Dewey was behaving pretty obnoxiously.
