Grave Consequences by B. Comfort

I got this book for $0.50 at a library book sale.  It looked interesting and has a sassy retired lady as the chief protagonist.

The book was ok. The main draw for me was the location - Vermont. Tish reminded me of the elderly lady detective in the "Murder She Wrote" TV series. There were definite differences - Tish drank a lot and she did some foolhardy things.

The book read like a Readers Digest condensed book. Things happened that were not sufficiently explained. I had trouble determining if bad guys who did bad things were discovered and caught. Cars were shoved off the road by who? and why? Lots of mystery questions in my mind about Harry's son Roger. Why was he sleeping in the museum attic?

I have read better mystery books. It was ok

I thought I posted about this book ages ago! I'm such a slacker! Let me see what I can recall...

I enjoyed reading this book, though I agree with many of your comments. I liked how sassy Tish was in the book. She didn't seem to take any chuff from anyone and yet seemed pretty well liked.

I agree that she was foolhardy, though. I questioned many of the things that she did and decisions she made. On the other hand, I liked the plot. It did move quickly and was almost too action-packed without the time between to understand why things happened or who did them.

I have read better and worse mystery books. It entertained me, but not enough to read the rest of the series.
