SACD "The Adventure of the Empty House"
Another optional reading, but I suggest that it is read immediately AFTER "The Final Problem".

I thought maybe we could post our favorite three Sherlock Holmes stories thus far. Obviously, we will continue reading and our list may change, but let's see how it stands as of right now.

SACD "The Adventure of the Final Problem"
Angie strongly suggests reading this story - but recommends it be the last one you read.
SACD "The Adventure of the Missing Three-Quarter"
Angie's suggested reading - includes a passing reference to Moriarty.

SACD The Adventures of the Engineer's Thumb
Harold Pick. I really hope there is missing body parts!!!!!

SACD's Sherlock Holmes- "The Adventure of the Naval Treaty"
A recommended reading for those of us who will not be satisfied with the required reading. Angie read if because the title promised international espionage. Do we see a patter in how Angie picks stories?
SACD's Sherlock Holmes- "The Five Orange Pips"
A recommended reading for those of us who will not be satisfied with the required reading. Angie read if because the title sounded intersting.

SACD's Sherlock Holmes - "The Adventure of the Dancing Men"
Angie chose "The Adventure of the Dancing Men" for her selection of SACD's Sherlock Holmes collection, based solely on the mirth alluded to in the title.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes- "A Study in Scarlet"
A recommended reading for those of us who will not be satisfied with the required reading. It is the first Sherlock Holmes and shows how Watson and Holmes meet.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes- "Scandals in Bohemia"
Melissa chose "Scandals in Bohemia" for her selection of SACD's Sherlock Holmes collection.

Moby Dick- Extra Chapters
I thought, just for fun, we could make a list of all the chapters of Moby Dick that could be easily deleted from the book without harm to the main storyline. For example, Etymology and Extracts, while interesting, add little value to the main storyline of Ahab, Ishmael, and Moby Dick.

Moby Dick - Quotations
Okay, so my new favorite quote is found on the first page of Chapter XVII, "...Heaven have mercy on us all- Presbyterians and Pagans alike- for we are all somehow dreadfully cracked about the head, and sadly neeed mending."
